TaylorMade has finally followed up their putter line with the new Ghost Spider. In 2008 they introduced the Monza Spider putter. This succession putter is a unique all white design that combines forgiveness and alignment. If you think this putter already looks familiar you were probably watching last weekends U.S. Open. Runner up Jason Day used a Tour prototype version of this putter. Developed by another well known Tour professional and TaylorMade staffer, Dave Stockton.

The Ghost Spider has two adjustable weights in the back corners of the head. These moveable weights contribute to the highest MOI of any TaylorMade putter to date. Another added benefit of this high MOI is that this putter is more resistant to off-center hits.

Distinctive to the Spider line the steel frame head has more weight in the back to increase MOI. The adjustability of the putter allows you to make the head heavier or lighter by changing the weight.

The face of the putter includes TaylorMade’s Pure Roll insert, which is found in most of their putters. Proven to help promote a forward spin and enhanced, feel and sound.

Why did TaylorMade produce another white club? The white clubhead allows players to see a sharp distinction between the club and the putting surface permitting a golfer to square up the face at address. As long as we are talking about alignment the Ghost Spider uses that as one of their crowning product features. Two golf ball-sized ovals and alignment line are found running along the face to the back of the putter.

TaylorMade created two versions one with a single-bend shaft and the other with a straight shaft that goes directly into the center of the face. The Ghost Spider putter will be available in golf stores this summer with a release date of: 7/5

After the WGC-Match Play Championship this weekend not only was a victor was decided but a new world #1 player was crowned. Luke Donald may have won the match but Kaymer took on a whole new crown as the number one player in the world. It is speculative as to how long he will be able to remain at this position. Seeing as how he wasn’t able to finish on top at the tournament. But this young man has a solid swing and no glaring weaknesses. With a few wins already under his belt this season it is possible he could stay on top longer than people are speculating. Of course the champion Donald also moved up his stock taking over the #3 position. Tiger was pushed down yet another spot to #5 and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get any better for him until he masters this new swing of his.

  • Martin Kaymer Wins The HSCB Championship in Abu Dhabi and has taken Tiger Woods place as #2 Golfer in the world
  • Jhonattan Vegan wins Bob Hope Classic in playoff. A 1st PGA win for him and his country of Venezuela.
  • Tiger Woods to make his 1st appearance on the PGA Tour this season at Torrey Pines at the Farmers Insurance Open.

There are certain risks that you assume when playing golf, is what a New York court judge ruled today dismissing a personal injury lawsuit. The case what between Dr. Anoop Kapoor and Dr. Azad Anad who were playing golf together and Anand was hit in the head while looking for his ball on the fairway, blinding him in one eye. Kapoor did not yell ‘fore’ or let him know that he had shanked the ball on the fairway. The judge decided that he was not in the foreseeable danger and that is the risk you take while playing this sport.

26 golfers finished a grueling marathon of golf at the Q-School to join the PGA Tour in 2011. After 6 weeks of qualifying rounds only the best survived. This last week mother nature didn’t help much with heavy winds and cold temperatures. A standout was Stanford star Joseph Barmlett who made history becoming only the second golfer of black heritage on tour-the other of course is Tiger Woods. However,
